Overview
La Ciudad Perdida, also known as Teyuna or Buritaca-200, is an ancient archaeological site located in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, northern Colombia, built by the Tayrona civilization around the year 800 AD. Rediscovered in the 1970s, it has become an important tourist and archaeological destination. Accessing the Ciudad Perdida requires a challenging walk of several days through the tropical jungle, crossing rivers and climbing stone stairs, offering a unique experience of immersion in nature and indigenous culture. With its circular terraces, stone staircases and ceremonial plazas, this site offers a fascinating window into Colombia's pre-Columbian past and is a significant symbol of indigenous cultural heritage.
